The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has announced a stellar list of performers for next month’s Idea IIFA Awards, promising to leave audiences spell bound. The performers’ line-up includes Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Govinda.

The performances are designed to showcase four important films that are to be released shortly. Headliners Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja will showcase Harry Baweja’s “Love Story 2050″; the lively “De Taali” team of Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh and Ayesha Takia are guaranteed to entertain. “The Mission Istanbul” cast of Zayed Khan, Viveik Oberoi and Shriya Saran along with the other members of the cast promise to set the stage on fire. “Acid Factory”, a film that has just begun production, will share its first look on stage with a performance by Dia Mirza, Fardeen Khan, Dino Morea and Aftab Shivdasani.

Ayesha Takia jumps on the bandwagon

Inspired by Kareena’s Tashan bod, Ekta Kapoor is all set to go on a three week crash diet and exercise course to fit into new clothes for her 33rd birthday. The charming and bubbly Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia will walk the ramp for designer friend Vikram Phadnis at the ninth International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, starting June 6 in Bangkok.

“I will be there for Vikram Phadnis, who is a very close friend of mine. He has designed some exclusive collections and it will be great fun to be there for him. Besides, I am also excited for my film ‘De Taali’,” Ayesha told IANS.

Seen in films like “Socha Naa Tha” and “Sunday”, Ayesha will also promote her forthcoming film “De Taali” at IIFA.

The Marathi actress has always been there for him

Prateeksha Lonkar is a well known Marathi stage, television and film artiste who came to Nagesh Kukunoor’s rescue when he was shooting for Iqbal.

Nagesh had already finalised Kittu Gidwani to play the role of Shreyas Talpade’s mother and begun shooting with her, when on the third day of shooting the famous Gidwani tantrums started being thrown. Ayesha Takia opts out of his film

Comic star Riteish Deshmukh’s plans of breaking into the mainstream actors’ league with “Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai” seem to be in peril with his leading lady Ayesha Takia opting out of the movie.

Ayesha, who happily played his bum chum in “De Taali”, is no longer playing the alien from Venus who lands into earthling Riteish’s embrace.

“No I can’t do Milap Jhaveri’s film because the dates got shifted by two months. I had already given dates to Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Tasveer’ and Prabhu Deva’s ‘Wanted’. Since these were confirmed in advance, I could do nothing but give up ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’,” Ayesha told IANS.
