Ayesha Takia is Wanted again

All those who insisted that Paathshala would be the last time one saw Ayesha Takia (left) on screen, post her marriage to restaurateur Farhan Azmi, can now be silenced. The actress’ mother, Farida, confirms that Ayesha, who had asserted in an interview to HT in April, that she was open to doing one or two meaningful movies a year, should be back in the studio “very soon, may be in a month or two” for Revathy’s next film. Ayesha was paired oposite Salman Khan in Wanted.

Ayesha Takia has finally signed a new movie post her marriage to restaurateur Farhan Azmi. She was working on Revathy Sharma’s Aapke Liye Hum with Jaya Bachchan and Raveena Tandon but the movie has been delayed.
The new movie in question is directed by South Indian actress turned director Revathy and is a very sweet romantic film. Ayesha had said that she would do one or two meaningful movies a year and has agreed to do Revathy’s beautiful love story.

Aap Ke Liye Hum, the film about an adopted mother, seems to be stuck after a series of mishaps. The latest is director Revathy Varma’s emergency knee surgery, which has once again thrown the first major schedule of the film out of gear.

Speaking about why she had to be rushed to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Hospital on Sunday (August 6), the director said, “I had to be brought here for an emergency knee surgery. I fell and hurt myself. There was some swelling. But I ignored it. On Sunday, when I was to start shooting, the pain suddenly resurfaced and got unbearable.”

Shooting resumes on September 5. “It would have started two days earlier. But my cast got busy with Ganesh Chaturthi,” sighs the director.

Madhavan is back in Revathy Sharma’s movie which is a female oriented film.

“LIFE has not changed at all after marriage. It feels exactly the same because Farhan and I have known each other for five long years. We keep asking each other that why didn’t we do this before! Even before we got married, Farhan and I felt mentally married. So nothing has changed,” says the glowing wife.

“We went all over Europe for our honeymoon. Farhan knows London well because he studied there. We relaxed, walked the streets, went into cosy cafes. Now we’re back in the heat of Mumbai,” says Ayesha.

So how is she finding life after marriage? “Honestly I can’t see the difference between before and after the wedding. My husband Farhan Azmi has been an integral part of my family for five years now. I’ve no close friends. For me, my mom and sister are the closest people in my life.”

Special birthday surprise for Jaya Bachchan

ayeshaJaya Bachchan turns on April 9. The makers of her new film tentatively titled Chaassni have planned a very Special surprise for her.

They’ve decided to pre-pone the commencement of the film’s shooting by a month to coincide with Jaya’s birthday.

Divulging details reluctantly the film’s softspoken director Revathy Varma says, “Yes, we’ve quickened the process of starting the film. April 9 is a very auspicious day. And my film is about honouring and giving a respectable place to the aged in our society. So what better proof of the film’s intentions than to dedicate it to Jayaji’s 60th birthday?”

The restaurateur will even set a record of sorts!

He is said to be pitted opposite the Congress’s Milind Deora, the sitting MP from Mumbai South. If Farhan does agree to contest then it will be one of those rare occasions when a father and son duo has contested in the same elections.
