Ayesha Takia Azmi seems keen to prove that married women can have their fan following and career intact as well as the fair maidens of Bollywood.

Her new film Wanted, opposite Salman Khan, releases this Friday, and seems to be quite a September attraction.

Ayesha chats with Nithya Ramani about films, marriage and future plans.

This is your second film after marriage. How does it feel?

It feels great. It is a good film to release at this point, as it clears misconceptions like I am not doing films. I am. I have been modelling since I was four years old so facing the camera is second nature to me. It’s something I want to do all my life.

I’m very excited about Wanted. It’s come out fabulous. I have seen the film. I think people will love it.

What is Wanted about?

It is a masala film — an action film. Salman is doing action after a long time. It has great music and a lot of dance, since Prabhu Deva is the director. It’s not mindless entertainment, there is a serious story to it.

I play Janvi, a simple and naive girl. It’s when she meets Salman’s character that she realises that there are things that happen that she hasn’t even thought of. So there is a big transition in her life.

Ayesha Takia Azmi is all set to make her appearance on Salman Khan’s show ’10 Ka Dum’. This is the first time that the actress will be seen on screen after her marriage to Farhan Azmi. As a part of the promotion for the film ‘Wanted’, Ayesha and Prabhu Deva will be celebrity guests on Salman’s show. Prabhu Deva, who was last seen in ‘Dance India Dance’ and ‘Nach Baliye’, was heard saying that this was a completely different experience for him.

The music of Boney Kapoor’s Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia starrer WANTED will be released on the star’s television show, DUS KA DUM. In fact, producer Boney Kapoor, his wife Sridevi, the director of WANTED Prabhu Deva and the leading lady of the film, Ayesha Takia will appear on the special episode of DUS KA DUM on 28th June.

As may be recalled Salman Khan has recorded a song in his voice for WANTED and further news is that this song has already been picturised on Salman and Prabhu Deva and will come during the end rolling credits of the film.

While still on WANTED, the film is all set to have an Eid release on 18th September.

Prabhu Deva and Ayesha Takia Azmi is the next celebrity guest in Sony’s Dus Ka Dum. The actors are here to promote their up coming film “Wanted” in the show. All three had a gala time while playing the game.

“Prabhu Deva and Ayesha were here in the show to promote their film Wanted. Salman did ask about the movie and also jigged with the dancing sensation on the stage,” says our source.

Ayesha too joined them. “It’s kind of her first big appearance on screen after marriage. She was looking stunning and enjoyed the game show with the two hunks of the Film Industry,” adds the source.

“Prabhu Dev was last seen in Dance India Dance and also Nach Baliye but this was all together a different experience for him.”

Boney Kapoor’s latest production Wanted will hit the theatres pan India on 7 August.

The film, staring Salman Khan, Ayesha Takia, Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mehak and South Indian star Prakash Raja, marks the directorial debut of choreographer/actor Prabhu Deva.

The music of the film has been composed by the duo Sajid-Wajid.

Meanwhile, the other two films from the Boney Kapoor production stable, Milenge Milenge and It’s my life, are slated to release sometime in September-October.
