Post marriage, this beautiful lady was just seen with Salman Khan in WANTED. Ayesha’s fans are waiting to see her sizzle up the screen once again. But she is busy spending some quality time with her husband Farhan Azmi.
During this break, Ayesha had colored her hair to golden brown and was seen flaunting her locks wherever she could. But now this actress will have to change her hair color back to black. This order has been given by director Nagesh Kukunoor, as Ayesha has signed his next movie.
This will be Ayesha’s first movie after WANTED, that can also be considered as her comeback because she has been away from films since her marriage. She is super excited to work with her favorite filmmaker and has no qualms in changing her hair color for his movie.
Ayesha received tons of compliments for her brown hair and she is eagerly waiting to see how people respond when she changes the hue to black again. Hope the comments Ayesha would receive make her happy!

All those who insisted that Paathshala would be the last time one saw Ayesha Takia (left) on screen, post her marriage to restaurateur Farhan Azmi, can now be silenced. The actress’ mother, Farida, confirms that Ayesha, who had asserted in an interview to HT in April, that she was open to doing one or two meaningful movies a year, should be back in the studio “very soon, may be in a month or two” for Revathy’s next film. Ayesha was paired oposite Salman Khan in Wanted.
Revathi’s film in question is not Aap Ke Liye Hum, toplining Jaya Bachchan, Raveena Tandon and Ayesha that the actor-director has been juggling with. After a major schedule was cancelled for the third time, following Revathy’s emergency knee surgery after a particularly nasty fall, that project has been temporarily shelved.
But Ayesha who was reported to be miffed after her dates went waste repeatedly, has given the nod to another script. “Ayesha was approached by Revathy a month ago for another film and she will be doing it,” says Farida.
Her co-star in the film is said to be Kunal Khemu. The actor’s business manager admits that Revathy did give Kunal an exciting one-line narration for the same film. “Kunal is waiting to read the final script before he takes a call. Revathy was supposed to get back to us by May end but we haven’t heard from her yet,” informs Abbas.

Ayesha Takia has been basking in the glory of Wanted, in which she starred opposite Salman Khan. However, the actress is not keen on more success in Bollywood. Yes, after having married hotelier Farhan Azmi last year, the actress decided to call it quits where acting is concerned.

On the other hand, Ayesha is all set to take a new avatar. She will be joining her husband in expanding the hotel business, sources say. If this is true, then Ayesha’s last film would be Paathshala.

Ayesha Takia She had a huge hit last year in the form of ‘Wanted’, opposite hot star Salman Khan and she has ‘Paathshala’ with Shahid Kapoor releasing shortly. But that’s about it! Ayesha Takia has no more Bollywood projects in hand.
We recently ran into the lady enjoying a coffee with mommy dear at a suburban café and that’s when the lovely actress revealed. “I am just enjoying my break. I haven’t signed any films as of now.” But the actress has a few things planned to keep her occupied as she takes a break from being in the arc lights.
Ayesha, who tied the knot last year with hotelier Farhan Azmi, is all set to turn into a business woman. “I am working with Farhan on plans of opening new hotels in Mumbai and also in Goa,” Ayesha divulged.
Now that’s a lot of work and will require Ayesha’s full time involvement. For sure, it will leave very little time for the actress to do films. Does that mean the girl has made up her mind to bid Bollywood adieu? Only time will tell.

Creative Quotient:
Pokkiri, the Tamil original, penned by Poori Jagannath, was a a runaway hit – and it will be hardly surprising if the Hindi adaptation follows suit. Race writer Shiraz Ahmed adapts the story very well. Radhe (Salman), a hitman, changes sides and partners as per his convenience and conviction. “Maine ek baar commitment kar diya to main apni bhi nahi sunta” is his motto. He roams around freely without any fear with his set of friends-cum-henchmen. He runs into Janhavi (Ayesha), a pretty call-centre worker and as the lecherous police inspector Talpade (Mahesh Manjrekar) devises ways and means to captivate Jahnavi, uncannily Radhe rescues her every time and eventually the two end up getting romantically involved.
As the stories of his brutal courage spread, international don Ganibhai (Prakash Raj) hires him. The story takes some dramatic turns to establish Radhe’s heroism. The script is convincing, well-justified and brought to a magnificent conclusion. The writer peppers up the film with some punchy one-liners and the screenplay is so taut and gripping too. Prabhudheva makes a stunning directorial debut, he sure keeps the viewer enraptured.
Technical Expertise:
Director Prabhudheva blends in emotion, action and comedy into a nice wholesome entertainment package. The film opens with a Ganpati procession song that has Govinda, Anil Kapoor and Prabhudheva grooving along with Salman. But the good thing about the direction is that he steers clear of overdoing choreography as he hires his brother Raju Sundaram and Vaibhavi Merchant to do the rest of the songs. The sleight-of-hand scene between Radhe and corrupt inspector Talpade is executed very well and makes for a cinematic thrill. Also, the sequence in which dreaded don Ganibhai tries to escape from police custody only to find himself marooned makes for a hilarious watch.
Salman is the life and soul of the film as he swings into his part effortlessly. He’s a natural in the action scenes, thoroughly convincing as he twirls and swirls the revolver. He’s simply the most wanted in the film. Ayesha Takia Azmi looks fresh and appealing. Her styling is also youthfully pleasant. Prakash Raj, the National Award winner, lends his villain act a cutting comic edge. He’s a villain to watch out for. Mahesh Manjrekar is convincing in his revolting role as the paan-spewing corrupt cop.
Action director Vijayan Master makes a huge contribution to the film with his slick action sequences. Sajid – Wajid’s music score is engaging and the slow romantic number is specially very soothing on the ear and a delightful watch for it’s catchy choreography. Nirav Shah’s camerawork is scintillating. On the whole, this is the film that we call paisa vasool!

She’s even more talkative than she was before marriage — obviously, becoming Mrs. Ayesha Farhan Azmi has made Ayesha Takia even more effervescent. What’s more, hubby seems to have proved professionally lucky for her, for “Wanted,” which released Sept. 18, is her first-ever hit and blockbuster. “Wanted,” directed by India’s top choreographer, Prabhudeva, making his filmmaking debut, stars Salman Khan as a hit-man who comes up against corrupt Mumbai police and a doozy of a bad guy (National Award winner Prakash Raj).
Producer Boney Kapoor announced Sept. 25 that he was planning a sequel to “Wanted,” which he said earned Rs. 40 crores its first week alone.
Indian PR being what it is, the interviews are held a mere three days before the release so we have to look at a pre-“Wanted” feel in her answers.
For those who came in late, Ayesha Takia’s first film, “Socha Na Tha,” also marked the debuts of Abhay Deol and Imtiaz Ali, but it was delayed and so she made her first impression with Abbas-Mustan’s “Taarzan – The Wonder-Car” (2004). The only film of Ayesha’s that did average business was “Shaadi Se Pehle” (2006), since even films like “Dil Maange More!!!” with Shahid Kapoor, “8X10 Tasveer” with Akshaye Khanna, big films like “Salaam-e-Ishq” and “Shaadi No.1” and even her acclaimed “Dor,” failed to meet box-office expectations. Before that, she was a child model who was a star in her own right who according to her then-co-child star Shahid Kapoor was into throwing tantrums! We start the interview on that note.
Excerpts from an interview with India-West:
Q: Met Shahid Kapoor recently and he says that as a child he hated you as you would throw tantrums and make him cool his heels on the sets!
A: (Laughs loudly) He is right! I was a brat, since I was a star of sorts and he had started modeling after me! But when we worked on “Dil Maange More!!!” and “Fool’N’Final” we got along fine.
Q: How similar is the character of “Wanted” to your real self?
A: I think that no matter how different a character I play, a little bit of me seeps into every role. I am keeping my fingers crossed now — “Wanted” is a good product, and what is important is that the film should be a hit.
Q: How was the rapport with Salman Khan? And does the age difference show?
A: Actually, we girls have to be careful about looks. Men as a rule start looking great as they age, and that’s true of Salman Khan too. My husband Farhan looks hotter than when I first met him and so I wonder how he will look when he touches 35! It’s we women who have to worry! Salman was a great co-star — very caring and supportive.
Q: Are you really quitting films now that you are married?
A: Frankly, I have no clue where that came from! I never said that I am quitting, nor does my husband want me to do so. I will act as long as the people want to watch me. My next film is Revathy’s next, with Jaya Bachchan. I am looking for a blend of commercial appeal and scope for acting; I have always done that.
Q: What do you think of Abhay Deol, your first co-star’s, present work?
A: I am really proud of Abhay and where he has reached doing the kind of work that he believes in. Let me tell you a secret — among my own films, our “Socha Na Tha” is still my favorite, not “Dor” that got me more acclaim.
Q: Do you have any wish-list of co-stars?
A: Shah Rukh Khan, of course! (laughs) I recently shook hands with him at an awards function and did not feel like washing it forever!

Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid release, WANTED, is becoming hotter and hotter. As the D-day approaches huge posters and cut outs of the film can be seen adorning the walls of single screens and multiplexes. The music by Sajid-Wajid is fast becoming a rage, and ”Love Me Love Me” can already be heard on the streets. So, is there anything that is negative in the film?
Well, some people from the trade are of the view that Ayesha Takia, the lead heroine of WANTED is not a commercially successful actress. They feel that she may be very talented but after all these years, is still to deliver a commercially successful flick. And people associate her with more of art house cinema like DOR etc, rather than an out an out commercial potboiler. Apart from that she is already married and sort of retiring from cinema. So, what does Salman Khan feel about it? Salman rubbishes the talk saying that these are narrow minded talks which have no basis. Ayesha is an extremely professional actress and has done a terrific job in WANTED.
He added that today’s audience has changed and many actresses are working after marriage and are very much in demand, both by the public as well as the producers. He revealed that Ayesha plans to continue acting and has quite a few good projects and is getting a lot of offers even after her marriage.
Certainly Salman, we too feel that Ayesha Takia has all the potential, and we are sure that you will provide her the first big hit with WANTED, as we had predicted long time back on our favourite portal. (Will WANTED be Ayesha Takia’s swan song!- May 16)
