October 26th, 2008

After hunting around for a heroine in every nook and corner of the film industry, Boney Kapoor has finally zeroed in on Ayesha Takia as Salman Khan’s leading lady in “Wanted Dead and Alive”, a Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster “Pokhiri”.

Many names, including Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone, were considered.

“But we decided finally on Ayesha. Both Sridevi and I feel she’s an under-utilised bundle of talent, just waiting to explode,” Boney told IANS.

“We saw her in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Dor’ and decided she was it. No two ways about it. The girl will go very far if she watches her steps,” he added.

Ayesha is currently working on a couple of projects, including one film with Salman Khan.

Her mother said the date of the big day was yet to be decided given her busy schedule. “The marriage date is not yet fixed as her shoot with Salman remains,” she said, “and that will commence only once he returns from London.”

Salman injures his foot

September 23rd, 2008

Amidst the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, Salman Khan injured his foot. A close friend of the actor revealed, “Salman injured his foot in the house itself. The morning after the Ganesh visarjan, which he participated in, there were a lot of internal arrangements in the Khan household, which were earlier changed to accommodate the Ganesh idol and the decorations surrounding it. The helpful Salman took it upon himself to get it back in the same order. But while moving one huge piece of wooden furniture, he ended up badly hurting his toes.”

Will Salman make it two in a row?

July 27th, 2008

While it is a certainty that YUVRAAJ would be pushed to early next year, Salman Khan still has his hands full for the rest of the year.

Apart from GOD TUSSI GREAT HO which is all set for a 15th August release, Salman Khan would also feature in WANTED – DEAD OR ALIVE and HELLO. Incidentally, as things stand today, there are good chances that the two films would be seeing back to back releases. While WANTED – DEAD OR ALIVE is eyeing 2nd October release; constant postponement of HELLO has brought it within breathing distances of WANTED. This is because HELLO is now aiming to arrive on 26th September.
