A host of Bollywood and political celebrities descended upon the wedding reception of Bollywood actor Ayesha Takia here last evening.

é, Farhan Azmi on March 1 at a simple ceremony, hosted the grand reception here, which saw the who’s who of film and political fraternity making it to the function.

Actors like Dino Morea, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Suneil Shetty and Riteish Deshmukh were among a few who made it to the reception party.

Wishing the newly weds a happy married life, Suneil Shetty said, I wish a happy married life to both of them.”

Nishit Takia did not attend daughter Ayesha’s wedding. Evidently, he was not even invited.Ayesha Takia’s wedding to restaurateur Farhan Azmi (March 1), was marred by one person’s absence, that of Ayesha’s father, Nishit. Tongues have been wagging ever since as to what caused Nishit to miss out on his daughter’s wedding. The inside story is that Nishit was not even informed about his daughter’s wedding date because he parted ways with Ayesha’s mother, Faridah, six months ago.

Nobody is saying what went wrong between Faridah and Nishith, but the matter is very serious and the bitterness is there for all to see. Our source elaborated, “Else would any wife not involve her husband in their daughter’s wedding? Forget about calling him, Nishit was not even informed about the wedding date.”

Ayesha Takia finally got hitched. One of the most talked about Bollywood weddings of the year happened last night in Colaba, Mumbai! Sources say that the lovely actress and her husband, hotelier, Farhan Azmi, had a small Nikkah (Islamic wedding ceremony) with their dearest family and friends. It was an intimate affair with a small guest list of 200 hundred people. The ceremony was held in Ayesha’s husband, Farhan Azmi’s restaurant. The guest list to the reception however was much larger.

Its seems forever ago that news of Ayesha Takia’s wedding to longtime boyfriend Farhan made the rounds but finally there is news as to when the big day will take place. Initially the wedding for set for Christmas Eve, however post the Mumbai attacks and because of Farhan’s father’s operation, the couple were in no mood for celebrations so they postponed the big day till mid-2009. Now news has come that the couple are so eager to tie he knot that they have decided to get married by the end of this month! Ayesha is frantically shopping to make the big day perfect and unfortunately is yet to comment to the media about the news. Well whenever the big day comes, we hope that it’s a day of celebration and happiness and that the couple have a very long and happy married life.
